Fasting in the Koran

In the Qur'an, this practice is mentioned:
يا أيها ٱلذين آمنوا كتب عليكم ٱلصيام كما كتب على ٱلذين من قبلكم لعلكم تتقون
Or those who believe, fasting has commanded you how to prevail over those of old so that you fear God. [Koran 2: 183]
أياما معدودٲت فمن كان منكم مريضا أو على سفر فعدة من أيام أخر وعلى ٱلذين يطيقونه فدية طعام مسكين فمن تطوع خيرا فهو خير له وأن تصوموا خير لڪم إن كنتم تعلمونكتب عليكم ٱلصيام كما كتب على ٱلذين من قبلكم لعلكم تتقون
(Fasting) for a fixed number of days, but if any of you is sick or traveling, the number indicated (must be composed) of days later. For those who can do it (with difficulties), it is a rescue, feeding that is destitute. But the one who will give him more, of his own will, - that is better for him. And it's better for you, how fast, even if you only know. [Koran 2: 184]
شہر رمضان ٱلذى أنزل فيه ٱلقرءان هدى للناس وبينت من ٱلهدى وٱلفرقان فمن شہد منكم ٱلشہر فليصمه ومن ڪان مريضا أو على سفر فعدة من أيام أخر يريد ٱلله بڪم ٱليسر ولا يريد بڪم ٱلعسر ولتڪملوا ٱلعدة ولتڪبروا ٱلله على ما هدٮكم ولعلڪم تشكرون
The month of Ramadan revealed the Koran as a direction for men and as clear proofs of orientation and criteria (of good and evil). And he who is present among you, let the month fast, and he who is sick or traveling, (may he fast) the number of other days. Allah wants after that ease, because He does not want any difficulty for you, and (He wishes) that you complete the period, and that you magnify Allah for having addressed you, and that perhaps you can be grateful [Quran 2: 185]

أحل لڪم ليلة ٱلصيام ٱلرفث إلى نسآٮكم هن لباس لكم وأنتم لباس لهن علم ٱلله أنڪم كنتم تختانون أنفسڪم فتاب عليكم وعفا عنكم فٱلن بشروهن وٱبتغوا ما ڪتب ٱلله لكم وكلوا وٱشربوا حتى يتبين لكم ٱلخيط ٱلأبيض من ٱلخيط ٱلأسود من ٱلفجر ثم أتموا ٱلصيام إلى ٱليل ولا تبشروهن وأنتم عكفون فى ٱلمسجد تلك حدود ٱلله فلا تقربوها كذٲلك يبين ٱلله ءايته للناس لعلهم يتقون
